The philosophy behind Mac OS 10 Lion is ‘Back to the Mac’. The OS 10 gave birth to iOS and that went on form iPhone to ipod touch and to the iPad. Now the Mac OS X meets the iPad to bring out LION. Here is what comes to the Mac:
- Multitouch support on Mac
- Mac App Store: 7 billion apps downloaded on the iOS. Same 70:30 share with developers. Installation happens just like it does on the iOS
- App home screens: Launchpad is awesome and spring board like flicking through pages and re arranging. Folders just like on the iOS aswell. Amazing!
- Full Screen Apps: Its so easy, since full screen apps is merged with spaces, you dont need to leave the fullscreen to go around. Mission Control is awesome aswell. webOS style stacks used during expose gesture.
- Auto Save – Constantly saves your data
- Apps resume exactly where you left
Apple has done massive touch research for desktops / notebooks screens. And its tiring on the screen to Apple worked on the trackpad gestures and the magic mouse / magic trackpad. So the OS X lion would use the trackpad and magic mouse extensively for gestures it seems.
Expose, Dashboard, Spaces, Full Screen Apps – All Unified. Called the Misson Control. Coming Summer 2011! But Snow Leopard will get the App Store in 90 days, developers can start submitting apps from November!
